Kim Tice

My story is one of redemption, resilience, and a calling that refused to let go. I was raised in a Christian home as a preacher’s daughter, surrounded by faith, prayer, and service. But like many people, my adult life took unexpected turns.

I married my husband, Mike, in 1988. The early years of our marriage were filled with struggle, instability, and eventually addiction. By 1999, both of us had become deeply entangled in substance abuse, which led to arrests, brokenness, and a season of profound emotional and spiritual darkness.

In 2000, I reached a turning point, standing at a crossroads that would determine the rest of my life. I was broken, scared, and unsure of what my future held. Mike was sentenced to prison, and I was also placed on probation. I faced the devastating loss of my children to Child Protective Services. My children experienced loss from separation, fear, confusion, and heartbreak as they watched our home be torn apart by arrests and uncertainty, longing for safety and stability. But through the support of my family, a compassionate probation officer who believed in me, and the undeniable grace of God, I was able to find my way back. I fought to regain custody of my children, rebuilt our family, and restored trust and faith—not only with my children, but with my entire family.

When Mike returned home, we committed to rebuilding our lives together. We found a church family that embraced us with love instead of judgment, and that changed everything. That love restored our faith, our hope, and our belief that God still had a plan for our lives.

Our healing journey led us into ministry through Mercy Heart, where we spent over a decade serving families impacted by incarceration. It was there that I discovered my true calling—mentoring children who carried the same pain my own children once carried. I became a safe place for moms, dads, and grandparents walking through the same storms I had survived. My testimony opened doors because people knew I understood. I had lived it.

In March 2025, my life shifted again when Mike returned to state jail for 18 months. Once again, I felt that sense of loss, loneliness, and despair. But this time, I stood on solid ground. I was clean, stable, and firmly anchored in my faith. Then in October, Mike shared a dream God had given him: “Get back into My work—the work I called you and Kim to years ago.”

I knew instantly what that meant.

Out of obedience, purpose, and a heart for the next generation, Kingdom Konnex was born in November 2025. Today, I use both the broken pieces and the redeemed parts of my story to bridge hearts, heal lives, and help break generational cycles for children impacted by incarceration.

My mission is simple:

  • To be the hands and feet of Jesus.
  • To show children they are safe, seen, and loved.
  • To support families with compassion, dignity, and hope.

My life is living proof that God can turn any story around—and I am committed to helping others discover that same hope.
